Did You Know?
Want to make a lot of money and be in the top five percent of US housholds? Go to Chester County young lady!
Thirteen percent of Chester County households earn $200,000 or more. This according to the MSN Money report brought to our attention by DNB First earlier this week.
What does that number mean?
It means 24,000 of the nation’s 4.5 million households earning $200,000 or more, the highest wealth division compiled by the United States Census Bureau, live in Chester County.
It means that the 13 percent of county households earning at least $200,000 is triple the 3.8 percent national average and nearly four times higher than the 2.77 percent of Pennsylvania’s households.
Earning $200,000 ranks a Chester County household near the top 5 percent of US households.
And where in Chester County are the affluent households. To no ones surprise the majority of the top earners straddle the Route 202 and 100 corridors on the county’s eastern edge with the balance hugging the Delaware border in southern Chester County.
