The Chester County Economic Development council has announced that registration for the Girls Exploring Tomorrow’s Technology (GETT) conference will begin tomorrow, February 14. Young women in grades 6-12 interested in attending the free event may sign up here. The conference kicks off Saturday, March 21 at Great Valley High School.

The annual conference encourages young women to explore careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math or STEAM fields. The conference  includes a tradeshowesque event with female role models conducting hands-on activities;  Schramm, The Vanguard Group, Paoli Hospital and many others will be on site.

“Over the past 15 years this event has gained tremendous popularity. Students and parents are encouraged to register as soon as registration opens to ensure a space in this innovative program.” said Gary Smith, president and chief executive officer of the Chester County Economic Development Council. Last year over 490 students registered from 94 schools across Pennsylvania.

Parents are also encouraged to attend the conference.  Special sessions designed just for them include micro messaging, college and career choices.

The CCEDC is still looking for volunteers to help run the event. Sponsorships opportunities are also still available.
