Exelon Promotes Two Senior Executives

By

Michael J. Pacilio is the new executive vice president and chief operating officer at Exelon Generation LLC, and Bryan Hanson, Exelon Nuclear COO, has been promoted to senior vice president, Pacilio’s former job.

Exelon, with local headquarters in Kennett Square, has annual revenue of about $24.9 billion and does business in 48 states. Exelon Nuclear is a business unit of Exelon Generation, a subsidiary of Exelon Corp.

Pacilio will have day-to-day operational responsibility for the safety, efficiency and reliability of Exelon Generation’s power generation fleet, which includes more than 100 generating units in 17 states.

Pacilio has more than 30 years of experience with the company and nuclear plant operations. Notably, he led the U.S. nuclear industry’s development of two national nuclear emergency response centers as part of the industry’s response to the 2011 Fukushima events in Japan.

Hanson, as president and CNO, takes over operational and organizational responsibility for the largest fleet of nuclear power stations in the nation, with more than 11,000 employees and 23 reactors at 14 locations in Illinois, Maryland, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Hanson will report to Pacilio.

Exelon’s utilities deliver electricity and natural gas to more than 7.8 million customers in central Maryland, northern Illinois and southeastern Pennsylvania (PECO).
