The Interview: Not Showing in Chester County

By

Sony Pictures reversed course Tuesday on its decision last week not to release The Interview, saying it would instead release the comedy the comedy about a CIA assignation plot on North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un staring Seth Rogen and James Franco on Christmas Day to a “limited” number of theaters nationwide on Christmas day.

Sony was criticized by other Hollywood studios and even President Obama last week for the company’s decision to cancel the movie’s opening in the aftermath of a computer hacking and North Korean threats.

Even though initial ticket sales to see The Interview are brisk, one theater chain owner in Texas cited by the Wall Street Journal reported shows of the hastily scheduled flick being sold out, Chester County movie goers will have to trek to either downtown Wilmington or to Elizabethtown in Lancaster County to see the controversial movie.

Regal Downingtown, Chester County’s only theater chain or any other area other theaters are not on Sony’s list of 200 or so “limited” number of theaters nationwide choosing to show the film.

Here are the links to the Elizabethtown and Wilmington theaters showing the movie and the article in Wednesday’s morning’s Wall Street Journal about Sony’s on-again, off-again, on-again decision to release The Interview.
