The Lighthouse Youth Center in Oxford is able to hire an administrative assistant thanks to a $10,000 donation from the Chester County Board of Commissioners.

The check, recently presented by Commissioner Terence Farrell, is among the county’s annual appropriations to county non-profit organizations.

The Lighthouse Youth Center is a church-affiliated organization that provides afterschool education and recreation programs to more than 300 Oxford area students age 9 to 18.  The center, established more than 26 years ago, is currently building a larger facility to accommodate increased student interest.  The center also plans to expand its free afterschool meal program.

Amy Perkins will be the center’s new administrative assistant.
