SunGard Data Systems Inc. of Wayne announced decreasing operating income and third quarter revenue of $691 million, up 2 percent over this time last year. Sungard manages software and processing solutions for global companies. The firm employs about 13,000 people and is anticipating revenue of $2.8 billion.

“Over the past few years we’ve been making investments to help our customers improve their competitiveness and address the litany of risk and compliance issues that are common in today’s marketplace,” said Russ Fradin, president and CEO.

He also said the company’s end-user experience and superior delivery are taking hold in established and emerging world markets. The company said growth in services and broker dealer revenues more than offset a decline in software license fees.

Notable third quarter achievements include the selection of IntelliMatch by one of the largest banks in Latin America, and the selection of Prophet Enterprise by one of the UK’s largest insurance companies.
