Dow Chemical Co. has for the fourth year in a row recognized local trucking firm A. Duie Pyle with its 2013-2014 Menlo Worldwide Logistics Package Carrier Safety Award for excellence in the safe transport of Dow products.

ADP transports 80 percent of Dow’s products.

“It is an honor to have been selected once again for the award,” said Tom Walker, A. Duie Pyle’s director of chemical markets and compliance. “We are the only northeast regional LTL responsible care carrier so we handle a lot of volume, and we’re dedicated to doing so with safety as our first priority.”

To qualify, carriers must have had no serious incidents and no more than one minor incident in the past year.  ADP also qualified in on-time performance, EDI compliance and emergency response.

Two local drivers for Pyle in West Chester were also recently recognized in Truckers News.  The retired drivers, Frank Wendling and Harold “Pete” Peterson, just couldn’t stop driving and got back in their cabs.
