A strategic partnership with Pennsylvania lead carbon battery maker Axion Power International has illuminated bright possibilities for Coatesville Solar Initiative’s 48-acre, 9.1 megawatt solar farm, starting as soon as this month or next when construction gets under way.
“Axion’s technology, industry contacts and knowledge would contribute significantly to the Coatesville farm coming to fruition,” developer Bob Keares said in a Daily Local News article. “I believe all parties involved are looking forward to developing a long-term partnership. We (CSI and its partners) look forward to developing (not only this project) but also future renewable opportunities.”
When fully built, the project has the potential to become the state’s largest. Power from its first two phases has already been sold to the Coatesville Area School District for the next 25 years, the article stated.
