Two County Organizations Will Host Job Fairs

By

Two Chester County organizations are planning career and job fairs this fall.

Coatesville ACTION, a newly formed community alliance, will host a Career and Job Expo at Lincoln University’s Coatesville Campus, 351 Kersey St., from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22.

ACTION stands for “a Change through Ideas, Opportunity and Networking,” said Donna Siter, Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce executive director.

The organization has invited many local employers including  Sikorsky, Ranstad USA, Rescare, CVS, Wells Fargo, Freedom Village, Innovations Home Care and KenCrest.

“We’ve worked hard to attract employers that are currently and actively hiring,” said Shannon Maria Jones, ACTION committee member. “Now we also want to get the word out to the best job seekers in western Chester County.”

Job seekers are also invited to take two free seminars, one on resume building at 1 p.m. and one on interview preparation at 2:30 p.m.

Employers who would like to meet job seekers should fill out applications via the Coatesville ACTION website, or contact Shannon@tmacc.org for more information.  Job seekers do not need to pre-register.

The Transportation Management Association of Chester County and the CHESCOBUS system will also host an “Access to Jobs” fair  Nov. 5 in Kennett Square.

The job fair, planned to highlight the array of employment opportunities from Oxford to Kennett Square along the CHESCOBUS SCCOOT route, will bring together employers and job seekers.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Red Clay Room at Cypress and Dalmation streets in Kennett Square.

More than 30 companies are expected but TMACC is still recruiting employers. Call Jones, the TMACC manager of Member Services, at 610-993-0911 or email shannon@tmacc.org for information.
