Protests Over O’Neill Project Escalate To Non-Stop Assemblies, Hunger Strike

By

Having endured petitions, protests, arrests and a failed injunction against its 16-year-old plans to clear a portion of a Boston suburban forest and build a residential development, King of Prussia-based O’Neill Properties Group now faces non-stop assemblies and at least one hunger strike from a growing contingent of environmentalists whose protests have reached Boston.com.

At stake is a $70 million project to construct 298 condos at what is proposed to become The Residences at Acorn Park, the article stated.

The plot of land within the environmental Alewife Reservation’s Silver Maple Forest has a history filled with both beauty and destruction, and the cycle may yet continue.

Read more about the land, the long-delayed project, and the recent backlash from protesters on Boston.com here.
