Bennett Williams Hopes To Develop Land Along Route 30

By

Bennett Williams Realty, Inc. is hoping to develop a vacant farm field in West Sadsbury Township, Western Chester County, near the intersection of Routes 10 and 30.

Signs recently went up near the Wawa at that intersection advertising available anchor and pad space to the West and North of the Wawa.

“There are no plans at the moment,” said Brad Rohrbaugh, Vice President – Retail.  “It’s a parcel of land the owners would like to develop but it’s going to take us a while to reach out to potential investors and develop the land,” he said.

Rohrbaugh said the parcel is owned by several investors he did not want to identify, and he said how many acres go into development will depend upon the type of development Bennett Williams can attract.

He said they don’t yet have any plans to bring before the township.  Bennett Williams Realty specializes in commercial property and has offices in Lancaster and York.

“There are a lot of variables,” he said.  “We’re in the pre-leasing stage.”

The property is in the Octorara Area School District whose school board has worked hard in recent years to attract commercial development to the district to offset high residential property taxes.

Several small businesses have recently opened on that stretch of Lincoln Highway between Route 10 and the Lancaster County line.  These include the eclectic boutique shop Haggling Harry’s, Chester County Scrubs and More, and Safadi’s Home Design.
