Pennsylvania Department Of Banking And Securities Has Resources For Entrepreneurs

By

Business owners looking to raise capital to expand or start new businesses have a new resource at the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities’ website to help guide them in the offering and sales of securities.

The resource is at www.dobs.state.pa.us.   Click on “Entrepreneur Education.”  The department is available to small business owners and the professionals who advise them, and helps business people learn how to raise capital in compliance with the Pennsylvania Securities Act of 1972. This act governs the offers and sales of securities in Pennsylvania. When used correctly, the provisions of the Securities Act can assist companies raising capital to further their business growth.

“Entrepreneur Education” addresses several important issues business owners must address if they are going to raise capital by offering securities. These include how to raise capital; disclosure and securities offerings; registering securities offerings; and information on exemptions to the 1972 act.

“People tend to be more willing to invest in a company that has a clear focus on its objectives and how it will achieve them,” said Glenn E. Moyer, secretary of banking and securities. “The new ‘Entrepreneur Education’ section of our website was developed by our professional staff to help businesses achieve that focus.”
