Nestled in seven acres of field, forest, pond and stream, all teeming with wildlife, is a new home as innovative as it is secluded. And its long-time West Grove builder, Hugh J. Lofting Construction Management Services, sees it as the home of the future.

It’s a 2,700-square-foot single-story house affectionately called The Camp that features extreme energy efficiency with pond-sourced geothermal heating and cooling, together with an open-style floor plan, near southern Chester County’s Landenberg community, the Chester County Press reported.

“The younger generation is already getting on board, but eventually, I see it as a trend that everyone will have to join, because of [the need for] renewable energy,” Lofting said in the article. “We’re finding that people will have to build smaller, more well-insulated houses that will save the world of its natural resources.”
