Washington Post Ranks AmerisourceBergen #1 In Pennsylvania

By

AmerisourceBergen is the largest Pennsylvania company

Last week when we noted AmerisourceBergen’s status as not just the only Chester County company included on Fortune Magazine’s Fortune 500 list, but the largest Delaware Valley firm included on the annual ranking, we failed to note the Chesterbrook company also happens to be the largest company to make the prestigious list in Pennsylvania as well.

Leave it to the Washington Post to point out our omission.

On Monday the Post ran a graphic, a portion of which is shown above, identifying the largest company by revenue in every state based on data supplied by Hoovers.com, a D&B subsidiary.

AmeriscourceBergen’s $88 billion in 2013 sales buys them the entire state of Pennsylvania.

As large as AmerisourceBergen’s billions loom in Pennsylvania however, the drug distributor’s annual revenues are dwarfed by Mobil Exxon’s $438B in Texas, Chevron Corp’s $229B in California, General Electric’s $146B in Connecticut’ and Verizon’s $120B in neighboring New York.
