Exton Firm Strikes Sweet Deal For Wind Farm

By

Exton’s BNB Renewable Energy and Sumitomo Corp. of Americas have landed a sweet deal with renowned candy maker Mars Inc. to install 118 wind turbines in Texas that will produce 200 megawatts of electricity.

BNB, whose leadership includes the former owners of giant Philly investment firm Butcher & Singer, approached Mars with the joint venture idea as a means to reduce its carbon footprint, according to a Philly.com article. The project, named Mesquite Creek Wind, will be constructed over 25,000 acres near Lamesa, Texas.

BNB has also negotiated deals to build wind farms for other major companies like Campbell Soup.
