Longwood Fire Company Provides Super Fan With Signed Turnout Coat
Santa and members of the Longwood Fire Company made a special visit with the company’s number one fan, Gianna Winters.
“Gianna is our super fan,” Chief A. J. McCarthy said. “She has a learning disability but she has become so interested in the firehouse that many have noticed an improvement in her ability to retain information since her involvement with the fire company.”
On Sunday morning Longwood Fire Company members brought her to the station to have hot chocolate and doughnuts while waiting for Santa. Gianna then joined Santa for her ultimate Christmas wish; a visit to area homes on a Longwood Fire Company truck. Her parents, Milan and Beth Winters, indicated they have noticed an improvement in her overall life outlook and energy levels.
“This has helped her do better at school and stay healthier,” said Milan Winters. “We can’t thank the Longwood team enough for all the time and attention they have given to Gianna. It has meant so much for her and helped her so much!”
At the end of the trip at her home, Gianna was presented with another Christmas wish, a Longwood turnout coat signed by members of the Longwood Fire Company.
