Houwzer, a Philadelphia-based real estate agency, is paying qualified homeowners in Chester County $1,000 to list their homes for sale. This home, at 124 Richmond Road in Paoli, is one of Houwzer's featured houses in Chester County.

Houwzer, a Philadelphia-based real estate agency, is offering qualified homeowners $1,000 in cash to list their homes for sale, writes Fran Maye for the Daily Local News.

“The housing market in Chester County now is really good, and we see great opportunity,” said Houwzer’s Jason Matthews.

The full-service residential real estate agency that recently moved into Walnut Street Labs in West Chester is also pioneering a unique, commission-free listing model. This eliminates its three percent commission, and replaces it with a $495 flat fee, payable on sale.

Instead of working on commission, Houwzer agents are full-time employees who receive a salary and bonuses based on performance, rather than sale size.

“That’s why Houwzer normally only charges a $495 listing fee and three percent for the buyer’s agent to sell a home, saving clients an average of $11,000,” said Matthews.

The $1,000 promotion from Houwzer will finish at the end of this year. The lowest home value to qualify for the promotion is $200,000.
