It was a satisfying first drink of liquor law reform in decades, and Pennsylvanians are already thirsty for more.

Those running the state’s House Liquor Control Committee, beer enthusiasts Reps. Adam Harris and Paul Costa, recently toured Victory Brewing in Parkesburg to talk about what more can be done, according to a Billy Penn report by Danya Henninger.

“There seems to be an openness and willingness to have a dialogue that hasn’t been there (in Harrisburg) for at least five years or longer,” Victory Co-Founder and Brewers of Pennsylvania President Bill Covaleski said.

So on the heels of “the year Harrisburg finally made some actual changes to Pennsylvania’s antiquated liquor laws,” more “chipping away at the byzantine code” was likely to come, the article explained. Privatization of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board seemed too much to swallow.

That attitude is good news for the state’s brewing industry, which is second only to California.
