West Chester Mom’s Startup, AboutOne, Hits 1M Users And $4M Raised

By

With $4 million raised, a West Chester tech startup propelled by “Comeback Moms” has attracted 1 million users and is aiming to turn the page of its growing online family management journal with a big sales and marketing push.

“Frustrated with not having a dashboard for her family’s medical information, ‘I wanted to make it easy for Walgreens to have my medical information with the push of a button,’” Joanne Lang told Technical.ly Philly for a recent article.

The mother of four and founder of AboutOne then read up on a myriad of lean startup resources, presented at a 2011 Venturebeat conference, reached out to investors and recruited fellow moms looking for flexible work.

Read more about the big milestones she experienced as her entrepreneurial idea developed, plus a five-minute video explaining the AboutOne online organizer, on Technical.ly Philly here, and check out another 55-minute video of Lang sharing her story at a recent Startup Grind Philadelphia event on the website of Ben Franklin Technology Partners, a key early investor, below.
