Andrew Holets has joined the YMCA of Greater Brandywine team as executive director of the Lionville Community YMCA.

Holets is an experienced nonprofit leader, having worked at various nonprofits, including the Peace Corps, since 2006. The bulk of his experience is in youth programming, financial development, and organizational leadership.

Holets is looking forward to making a difference in the community. In his new role, he will put his wealth of experience into action to support the development of youth programming, as well as foster the growth of philanthropic giving and volunteerism at the Lionville YMCA.

“I’m excited to be back at a Y and be able to use my experiences to support the fantastic team we have at Lionville as we continue to develop and grow programming that addresses the needs of our community,” said Holets.

The Lionville YMCA currently offers a wide variety of programming, including a childcare and early learning center, summer camps, swimming lessons, pottery and art classes, pickleball, and an array of in-person and virtual group exercise classes.

The YMCA also partners with other nonprofits and organizations to offer events and programs that benefit the community, including flu shot clinics and blood drives.

“One of the best things about the Y is that we are able to welcome everyone who wants to be a part of our community because of our financial assistance program, supported entirely through donations,” said Holets. “I’m looking forward to sharing stories of the impact the Y has made at our Trivia Night Fundraiser on Nov. 12. This is our location’s first big event since the pandemic began, and we can’t wait to have our community out to enjoy this really fun event while supporting the Y.”
