Chester County residents can find no shortage of pumpkin picking and autumnal fun at local farms and pumpkin patches, write Clair Chmiel, Samantha Geiger and Anne E. Hill for Main Line Today.
Here are five spots where you can find the perfect pumpkin this fall.
Colonial Gardens—Phoenixville. Open every day from 10 AM to 4:30 PM, Colonial Gardens offers an extravagant pumpkin display complete with scarecrows and cartoon characters. Find a wide range of available pumpkins in addition to haunted hayrides on weekends.
Highland Orchards—West Chester. Fall fun knows no bounds at Highland Orchards. The expansive property offers pumpkin picking, local produce, an on-site farm market, and bakery items in addition to hayrides and a corn maze. Field access is $3 for the pick-your-own pumpkin option.
Milky Way Farm—Chester Springs. For a $5 admission ticket, visitors can enjoy pumpkin picking and visit farm animals at Milky Way Farm. The on-site creamery also offers late fall weekend hours so visitors can enjoy delicious homemade ice cream, including the Polly’s Pumpkin Pie flavor.
Sugartown Strawberries—Malvern. Sugartown Strawberries offers a tractor-drawn wagon to their pumpkin patch on weekends throughout the fall. Find local produce at the country store and no shortage of pumpkins at the outdoor patch. The farm also offers rotating events throughout the fall, including bonfires available by booking only.
Yeager’s Farm & Market—Phoenixville. While they’re known for their Christmas trees, Yeager’s Farm & Market brings an abundance of fall fun with pumpkin picking, hayrides, and more. Find fresh produce, homemade apple cider, and canned goods at the market. Hayrides to the pumpkin patch and corn maze run on weekends from 10 AM to 4 PM.
