Here are three orchards and farm markets where you can pick your own fruit to make the most of the remaining summer season.
Barnard’s Orchard—Kennett Square. A family-run business, Barnard’s Orchard offers blueberries and blackberries for public picking. Fresh peaches and vegetables are also available at the farm market. Owner Lew Barnard provides updates on the farm’s Instagram so viewers can see what seasonal items are available.
Highland Orchards—West Chester. This sprawling orchard has offered local produce for over eighty years. Available produce items range across sixteen crops, including berries, peaches, plums, sweet corn, and pears. The farm also offers pumpkin and apple picking during fall months.
Sugartown Strawberries—Malvern. Sugartown Strawberries boasts corn, berries, and other seasonal fruits and vegetables in addition to an expansive sunflower field where you can pick your own sunflowers. The farm also features pumpkins and seasonal mums perfect for the upcoming fall season.
