Arc’s Community Partnerships Highlight National Disabilities Awareness Month

The Arc of Chester County is joining community partners in March for National Disabilities Awareness Month in support of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The month of March is National Disabilities Awareness Month.

It is a time to promote inclusion, advocate for equal opportunities, and celebrate individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Arc of Chester County is honoring this month with special community partnerships and events to raise awareness and support for this vulnerable population.

Despite progress, individuals with disabilities still face many challenges, including higher unemployment rates, limited access to public resources, and social stigma. By fostering awareness and inclusion, The Arc aims to drive meaningful change.

Throughout March, The Arc is partnering with Iron Hill Brewery (West Chester) and Snap Custom Pizza & Salad (Exton).

These two Dine & Donate initiatives let patrons support The Arc of Chester County while enjoying savory meals.

Find out details and how to participate.

The Arc will also host its Chat-n-Chew Speaker Series, featuring free, expert-led discussions on disability rights and important advocacy issues.

Topics for March include “Strategic Transition Planning for Students with Disabilities,” “Social Security Disability Benefits,” “Comprehensive Employment Services,” and many more.

The Arc’s Recreation Calendar is full of wonderful events for March, including a Dinner & Disney event, a trip to the Barley Players to see a musical, and a “Bring on Spring” Craft Night.

Support National Disabilities Awareness Month and The Arc of Chester County by attending the events, dining with our community partners, and spreading the word of equity, inclusion, and support for individuals with disabilities and their families.
