Spend a Chilly Day at Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens in Devon
As colder weather approaches, Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens is a great activity for a chilly day, writes Alyssa Turner for County Lines Magazine.
Located in Devon, Jenkins spans 48 acres of curated gardens, natural woodlands, and serene walking trails filled with native plants. Jenkins also features a lively Education Center that boasts an art gallery that is open year-round.
The art gallery highlights the beautiful connection between art and nature; something it has been curating for almost 25 years. Since its beginning, Jenkins has hosted 57 exhibitions, showcasing work by 300 local artists, both professional and amateur.
The art can range from oil paintings and watercolors to textiles and mixed media to everything in between. The pieces reflect the natural beauty, as shown in the Jenkins gardens.
The art gallery is open daily from 9 AM – 4 PM. There is no cost for admission and the exhibitions are rotated quarterly.
It will soon be unveiling the 14th annual Visitors’ Photography Exhibition. It is a juried contest and will be on display from Jan. 11 – March 23, 2025.
Submissions will be accepted on Jan. 6 and 7, 2025.
