People’s Light will soon launch its much-anticipated Flight Night series with “Something Wicked” on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024.

This inaugural event of the 50th Anniversary Season promises a thrilling evening of storytelling, featuring twisted takes on beloved tales and folklore that will delight and surprise. In true Mischief Night fashion, guests can expect more than a few tricks and treats, making “Something Wicked” the perfect outing to celebrate the spooky season.

The event begins at 6:00 PM, inviting audiences to experience a one-of-a-kind pairing of wine and mini-plays for a perfect blend of entertainment and dining. Written and produced by Andrew Watring, each mini-play brings a familiar story to life with a dark twist, promising laughter, gasps, and plenty of surprises along the way. The immersive format ensures that guests are both entertained and engaged, as the performances are woven seamlessly into the social atmosphere.

Peoples’ Light Producing Artistic Director, Zak Berkman, shares his excitement about the event: “Flight Nights are a unique way to experience theatre, bringing people together to share in stories, wine and a bit of mischief. We’re always looking to push the boundaries of how we engage audiences, and ‘Something Wicked’ is the perfect way to kick off this new series during our 50th Anniversary Season.”

The Flight Night series is an initiative by People’s Light to offer a fresh and accessible theatre-going experience. By pairing short, compelling performances with thoughtfully curated wine flights, the series is designed to attract new audiences while providing long-time supporters with a novel way to engage with the art.

The “Something Wicked” event invites attendees aged 21 and over to join in a night of theatre that’s as mischievous as the holiday itself. Ideal for anyone looking for a distinctive way to celebrate Halloween, the evening will feature professional actors performing scenes that transform well-known fairy tales and legends into something much more sinister.

With wine in hand and thrills to be had, “Something Wicked” will set the stage for a series of Flight Nights, each bringing a new and exciting theme to People’s Light. For a full listing of Flight Night programming visit People’s Light.
