Three Chester County Towns are the Wealthiest in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania is home to a wealthy bunch, Chester County being the most affluent. Devon, home of the Devon Horse Show grounds was one of three Chester County towns included on the list of the wealthiest towns in the state.

The Philadelphia area is home to a wealthy bunch. According to the U.S. Census American Community Survey, some of the wealthiest towns in Pennsylvania are in Chester County. Here are some that made the list, according to Joselynn Chua at Suburbs 101.  

West Pikeland

The median household income for this small 4,000 population town is $261,593. Around 98.1 percent of the residents own homes.  

West Vincent

This rural town is a tad bit more populated, with 6,668 residents. However, the median income is slightly lower at $236,361. The township was founded in 1832 and has an array of historical sites on the National Register of Historic Places.  

Devon

Home to the Devon Horse Show and a bustling downtown, this affluent area is popular on the Main Line. Median household income is $220,978 for a small population of 1580.  

Other nearby towns that made the list were Wayne, Rose Valley, and St. Davids in Delaware County, as well as Villanova and Merion Station in Montgomery County.
