The Coatesville Area Public Library will host a spring raffle featuring new designer bags from two local design companies, Atelier 56 and IHKWIP. Both companies have generously donated their products to support the library’s fundraising efforts.

The 1st prize tote bag was presented to Penny Williams, the library Executive Director by Lance Mobley, a Coatesville resident and entrepreneur of Atelier 56. He specializes in beautifully handcrafted leather bags and accessories. Mobley, a 2005 graduate of Coatesville Area High School, learned leather-working as an apprentice at Byrum’s Shoe Service in Malvern. He was a visual merchandiser for furniture brands like Crate & Barrel and Ethan Allen before starting his own company.

IHKWIP, co-founded by Baylen Edwards-Miller and Anthony Nota, moved to Coatesville from Manhattan to “create bags that solve problems” after their fashion industry jobs were disrupted by the pandemic. Their bags were the “hottest bags to hit QVC” in 2021 and have been featured in Vogue, Condé Nast Traveler, Glamour magazine, and others. Edwards-Miller also attended Coatesville Area High School, and one of the library’s sale volunteers recognized him from his photo as her former 2nd grade student.

Raffle tickets are available for purchase at the library at $1 each, 6 tickets for $5, or 14 tickets for $10. Organizational or company ticket sales can be arranged by contacting the library’s development consultant at patbush1@verizon.net. The lucky winners will be chosen on May 15 at noon, and all proceeds will go towards supporting the library’s operational expenses and the community.

The Coatesville Area Public Library’s spring raffle is a testament to the saying “it’s a small world,” as Coatesville connections run deep. The library extends its gratitude to Atelier 56 and IHKWIP for their generous donations and support. Don’t miss your chance to win one of these amazing designer bags while supporting your local library.
