Alex Mann, a Malvern resident with autism, has been visiting police departments in five states for more than four years, recently completing stop No. 322, writes Chris English for Levittown Now

The graduate of Great Valley High School visited Tullytown Borough police where he expressed his appreciation for the hard work they are doing and the dangers they face each day, but he also offered advice on how police officers can handle possible encounters with people who are on the spectrum.

During his visit, he provided numerous tips, answered questions, and received a complete tour of the department. He also enjoyed a launch with several officers and left town with a certificate of appreciation from the borough, a police shoulder patch, and other gifts.

He believes that both he and the police get a lot out of his sessions.

“I can definitely tell it has a positive impact because I have officers reaching out to me after I’ve visited asking me to come back or asking for more advice,” he said. “It’s really amazing.”
