The Crepes Are Crazy Delicious at This Café in Kennett Square
The owners of Crazy Deli Crepes Café in Kennett Square are involving their children in the operation of their newly opened establishment, hoping they acquire critical business skills, writes Steven Hoffman for the Chester County Press.
After working in the restaurant industry for years, owners Irma Carrillo and Ana Aguilar decided to open their own place. Carillo, who has two teenage daughters, and Aguilar, who has two teenage sons, wanted to involve their children, so they could spend time together and teach them important skills.
“We want our children to learn how to grow a business,” said Carrillo. “We want them to develop a good work ethic. Our children get to spend time with their moms, and we get to spend time with our children.”
The café at 110 South Union Street not only offers crepes but also bagels, Caesar salads, desserts, milkshakes, and paninis. While recently remodeled, the women have plans to add a patio for outdoor dining.
The business is so customer-oriented that Carrillo and Aguilar welcome any menu suggestions and strive to make the café comfortable and welcoming for all who visit.
“Customers like that they can order what they like,” said Carrillo. “We will customize crepes. Everything is fresh: meats, fruits, and vegetables. We really focus on freshness. That is what we want for our families and what we give to our customers.”
