An abundance of new restaurants is taking over the Philadelphia region and one of them is in Chester County, writes Michael Klein for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Sweet Amelia’s is an upscale BYOB casual eatery coming to downtown Kennett Square

The restaurant, named after the owners’ soon-to-be 8-month-old daughter, is set to open on May 1. Chefs Karessa and Zack Hathaway met in culinary school in Charlotte, North Carolina. But the couple took the untraditional approach and became nomads. The couple toured Australia in a converted camper van for a month.

“We kind of lost our marbles and decide to travel the world instead of being locked in basements and banquet halls for 80 hours a week,” said Zach Hathaway.

Guests can expect vegetable rich dishes such as carrot cappeletti, red lentil hummus and meat-based courses such as lamb rack with za’atar and the skate wring with grated cucumber salad.
