Josh Stehle, a junior at West Chester University, penned a book about his ‘superheroic’ bond with his brother Zach, a 23-year-old Downingtown resident who is on the autism spectrum, writes Holly Herman for the West Chester Patch

Zach, who works full-time at a Giant grocery store, was the one who encouraged his 21-year-old brother to write I Am A Superhero Expert: Growing Up With My Autistic Brother

The brothers share a bond of friendship and admiration that is not often seen between brothers.

“Zach is my best friend,” said Josh. “Our goal with the book is for everyone to learn about autism. I am not a doctor. I am a guy with a brother who has autism.”

The book offers first-hand knowledge of what it is like to live with a brother on the autism spectrum. Josh did the research for the book and interviewed 100 ordinary people on their understanding of autism.

The brothers also have a TikTok where Josh quizzes his brother on superheroes – his biggest passion. They are also planning to write a book together but do not want to reveal the details just yet.
