Malvern-based Vanguard earned a top spot in Forbes 2023 list of large employers. This year, Forbes ranked 500 companies based on data from Statista which surveyed over 45,000 workers, writes Ryan Mulligan for Philadelphia Business Journal.  

Large employers have a staff of 5,000 people or more. Vanguard landed in the top 100 of the list ranking at No. 51. Other Philadelphia area companies were also recognized on the list, including Penn Medicine (No. 30), University of Pennsylvania (No. 65), and W.L. Gore and Associates (No. 63).  

Vanguard is considered the largest provider of mutual funds and the second largest for exchange-traded funds (ETFs) globally. The investment company was founded in 1975 and now has offices all over the world.
