Heart Tracks Screening Program  

Feb. 15, 2023, 3:30 – 6:30 PM 

This program is for adults ages 40-79 who have not had a heart attack or stroke. It includes blood pressure, non-fasting cholesterol and HDL and body mass index (BMI) screenings, a 10-year cardiac risk assessment, and a personalized counseling session. 

Reversing Pre-diabetes  

Feb. 20, 2023, 6 – 7:30 PM 

There are 96 million American adults who have pre-diabetes. Come to this 90-minute program to learn more about pre-diabetes and to get the tools you need to change your lifestyle and reduce your risk of getting Type 2 diabetes. 

Steady As You Go: What You Can Do to Decrease Your Risk for Falls  

Feb. 20, 2023, 2 – 3:30 PM 

Falls remain the leading cause of injury for older Americans and often threaten seniors’ safety and independence. Prevention remains the best way to avoid the injuries and other problems often related to falls. Learn from a Physical Therapist about the practical steps you can take with exercising, managing your medications and lifestyle adjustments to decease your risk for a fall and maintain your independence. 

Promoting Resiliency and Developing Connections 

Feb. 21, 2023, 6 – 7 PM 

This training provides a foundational understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), trauma, and resilience. Learn how trauma impacts the developing brain of the individuals and families you serve, how we can work towards preventing some ACEs and trauma, and how a basic understanding of trauma-informed care can improve patient outcomes. 

Exercise and Heart Health  

Feb. 22, 2023, 6 – 7 PM

Join this presentation to learn how exercise improves heart health and to explore different forms of movement such as resistance training, aerobic training, and yoga. Participants will receive resources and strategies to move more and feel better. 

A Conversation about Emotional Eating 

Feb. 23 – March 16, 2023, 6 – 7:15 PM

Do you eat when you are lonely, upset or stressed? Is emotional eating getting in the way of your health goals? Come to this 4-week interactive series, led by a Registered Dietitian, to discuss emotional eating and learn tips and tools to overcome it. 

Bones and Joints: The Hip 

Feb. 27, 2023, 6 – 7 PM

Hip pain is common in older adults and can cause functional disability. Join this presentation by an orthopaedic surgeon to learn about hip pain causes, diagnostic tests, and treatment options including medication, exercise therapy, walking aids, and surgery including hip replacement.  

Diabetes Support Group: Cooking with Color 

Feb. 28, 2023, 6 – 7 PM

This monthly support group is for individuals living with the day-to-day challenges of diabetes. You and your family members can join us for ongoing support, share your experience with others, and receive updates in diabetes management. 

Medicare 102 

Feb. 28, 2023, 6 – 7:30 PM 

This presentation is for people who already have Medicare and want a refresher and better understanding of their benefits, preventive services, etc. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.
