Malvern 7-Year-Old Already Finding Her Place on Big Screen
Despite being just seven years old, Malvern’s Rose Decker is already leaving her mark on the big screen with her roles in Nanny and Mare of Easttown, writes Kim Douglas for Main Line Today.
Decker got her start as a baby, when her photo was selected as the winner of a cute baby contest. She walked a mini-runway at New York City’s fashion week as a two-year-old and was in a number of commercials before landing her first major role.
Mare of Easttown became an instant hit on HBO Max, while Nanny debuted at the Sundance Film Festival. The movie will be available on Amazon Prime on Dec. 16.
“It’s a psychological thriller,” said Decker’s mom, Alynn. “Rose only had one scene where she could visibly see a knife. They walked her through it ahead of time, letting her touch it and the fake blood.”
And while she said she was not scared, Decker added that she would not invite her friends to see the film.
“It’s a grown-up movie,” she explained. “[One of the characters] had a knife in her hand and almost stabbed me.”
