A Malvern-based developer wants to construct Tommy’s Car Wash and Starbucks at the former K-Mart lot in Phoenixville, writes Holly Herman for the Phoenixville Patch

To achieve that, Arnold Anderson, executive vice president of Longview Property Group, asked Phoenixville Council earlier this week to approve a zoning change for the seven-acre tract next to Phoenixville Plaza. The property, which has a vacant 400-space parking lot, is currently used as a self-storage facility.

The construction plans include several improvements to the lot, including sidewalks, landscaping, and stormwater management.

“The modern car wash can handle the number of cars in Phoenixville,” said Anderson. “Having a modern, high-tech car wash will be advantageous to many people in Phoenixville.”

He added that a Starbucks would bring in more customers to the nearby shopping center.

Council is expected to make its decision on Jan. 10, 2023.
