Kennett Square to Honor Service Members Throughout November

By

November is National Veterans and Military Families Month. Kennett Square will be observing November to host multiple events to remember men and women of service, writes Jen Samuel for The Daily Local News.

Following Veteran’s Day, the borough will be hosting a memorial service for the 50th anniversary of two police officers who were killed in the line of duty.

The event will be held tomorrow, Nov. 15, and feature an unveiling of a memorial plaque that honors officers William Davis and Richard Posey. Their family members and the Pennsylvania State Police Honor Guard will be in attendance.

Later in the month, the borough will honor World War I veterans. The ceremony on Nov. 19 will include a wreath-laying and a 21-gun salute.

“Kennett Square is an exceptional community and it’s wonderful that we come together to celebrate and acknowledge events such as these,” said William T. Holdsworth, chief of police. “As always, there are some great things happening this month in Kennett Square.”
