As Chester County descends into the gift-giving season, there are many startups and small businesses with local creators that offer the perfect gift for the holidays, writes Lisa Dukart for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

In West Chester’s endless supply of talented small businesses, there are two companies that should be on your nice list.

IrieVeda, allergen-friendly brand from Tashelle Darby-Wong, launched earlier in the year and offers a seasonal baking set made with ingredients such as cinnamon alba, cloves, fennel, allspice, and more. Alternatively, Valencia Key sells high-end jewelry that has been appreciated by the likes of The Oprah Magazine and is sold on QVC.

Another QVC star is from one of the company’s make up artists: Marcia Williams of Embellish Beauty. The brand’s liquid lipsticks work as great stocking stuffers!

H. Honeycup in Malvern launched in 2017, and has been pumping out Made Safe-certified items like its Orange Sunflower Body Scrub.

Meanwhile, Christine Martley-Ochola and Anne Cheatham of Coatesville-based Nuele aim to provide clean and chemical-free serums, hair masks, and more.

Searching for high-quality, affordable athletic wear? Merak apparel was created by an Owen J. Roberts graduate who wanted to make chic and comfortable clothes for those who are always on the go.

Finally, if you want to toe over county lines, check out Young Buck Skin in Wayne for men’s skincare gifts including its skin soothing balm that works great for cold, dry winters.
