Director of Surveying and Data Capture

This position’s responsibilities include setting the strategy and overseeing the execution of the department’s business plan, staff management and development, operations, technology, and business development.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in directing and performing all aspects of acquiring, processing, analyzing, and compiling data to prepare maps, plans, documents, and deliverables for boundary surveys, topographic surveys, control and design surveys, subdivisions, records of survey, ALTA/ACSM surveys, lot line adjustments and easement acquisitions, court case expert testimony, other office surveying tasks, and occasional field-related tasks.

Survey Crew Chief

This position will perform all aspects of site and boundary reconnaissance, construction stakeout, and boundary, topographic, roadway, and as-built surveys, ultimately turning that field data into AutoCAD drawings.

The ideal candidate will possess an AS in Surveying or related degree and three to seven years of relevant experience; experience with AutoCAD Civil3d and Robotic Total Station and data collectors; knowledge of ALTA land surveys, boundary and topographic surveys, and construction staking; and the ability to use Microsoft Office and other computer software.

Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities of this position include the mechanical design of HVAC and other building systems for higher education, healthcare, data center, and industrial projects. He/she will directly interface with clients, vendors, contractors, and associates of SSM; perform mechanical design calculations and standard computations, such as building heating and cooling; and follow building design and energy codes and standards.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering; seven to nine years of experience in the design of HVAC systems; knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit; and strong written and verbal communication, self-motivation, and leadership skills.
