Top Gun: Maverick star Miles Teller, a Downingtown native, celebrated Phillies’ advancement to World Series with shots at Angelo’s pizzeria in south Philly, writes Mike Sielski for The Philadelphia Inquirer

Teller has always been a huge Phillies fan. He counts players Rhys Hoskins and Aaron Nola as friends and texts commentator Tom McCarthy during games with questions about strategy.

Teller was vacationing with his wife, Keleigh, in Cabo San Lucas on Oct. 3 when the Phillies managed to clinch one of the National League’s wild-card spots.

“And I said, ‘We’re going to the NLCS. We’ll figure it out. Let’s go,’” he said.

Now, the team’s success has the entire city in a celebratory mood.

“It just feels like a movie, especially with this team,” said Teller. “It really does.”
