Pottstown's Fete en Blanc is a unique dining experience.

Pottstown Area Economic Development (PAED) and Hobart’s Run are hosting their fifth annual Fête en Blanc in Pottstown.

The unique, al fresco dining experience is Sept. 9, 6–9 p.m., at the Smith Family Plaza at Borough Hall, 150 E. High Street, in Pottstown.

The dinner is modeled after a traditional fête en blanc or dîner en blanc (dinner in white). These worldwide events ask diners to wear all white and partake of a food-and-drink experience in a public, outdoor setting.

Often these meals provide only threadbare information on where they are being held, with the reveal of the site part of the experience.

The PAED/Hobart’s Run version, however, has already revealed its site.

But it will be adhering to another fête en blanc tradition, requiring ticket holders to bring plates, napkins, silverware, glassware, water, and food (if not prepurchasing from a vendor).

The beautiful evening will feature:

  • Food and beverages (brought from home or purchased beforehand)
  • Live music
  • An eclectic and enthusiastic gathering of residents, business- and property-owners, and visitors eager to celebrate Pottstown’s revitalization.

Many attendees come from nearby communities like Limerick, Royersford, and Collegeville; others travel from further out Phila. and Lancaster.

The point in general is to bid a fond adieu to the 2022 summer season.

But the Pottstown edition has an additional layer,: to support economic development and community-building efforts within the borough and the tri-county region.
