Following his firing from Jackass Forever last year and recent substance-abuse treatment, West Chester native Bam Margera said he has “never felt better” in an episode of Jackass co-star Steve-O’s podcast that was released this month, writes Nick Vadala for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

In the episode from Steve-O’s Wild Ride, which was recorded in May, the pair discussed Margera’s alcoholism and mental health struggles.

“I actually have never felt better,” said Margera. “I actually didn’t realize I had such a problem.”

The former pro skateboarder was fired as a result of allegedly breaking a “wellness agreement” in his contract, and while he was originally upset over the situation, he claims to be happy about not being in the film.

“Everything is meant for a reason, and I’m much better off not being in it,” he said. “I don’t want to do that anymore. I don’t want to be a part of it. I’m much happier without it.”

While he had made headlines about fleeing his Florida rehab center in June, Steve-O and Margera’s family have confirmed that he is back in rehab again to continue his path to sobriety.
