A fundraiser to support Kennett Square-based Camp Dreamcatcher and its week-long camp for children impacted by HIV or AIDS will take place on June 25, writes Steven Hoffman for the Chester County Press

The Catching Dreams for Kids event will feature two in-person wine tastings and food pairings. All of the proceeds from these events will help the nonprofit provide educational and therapeutic programs to children during the camp for free. The camp session will take place from Aug. 21-27.

Two guided wine tastings and food pairings will take place on June 25. The Sommelier’s Secrets Experience will be held from 5:30-6:30 PM at Work2gether on State Street in Kennett Square. It will feature five wines and individual appetizers and cost $75.

The nonprofit hopes to raise $20,000 through the two events and an online auction.

“The kids tell me that camp is the only place where they feel comfortable sharing their feelings about HIV and AIDS,” said Patty Hillkirk, executive director of Camp Dreamcatcher. “We provide an atmosphere of tolerance and acceptance. The kids can let down their walls. Our counselors provide unconditional love to the campers.”
