FOX 29: Chester Springs Man Born in Ukraine Wants the U.S. to ‘Draw the Hard Line’

By

As the White House has worked to push Congress to approve $33 billion in aid to Ukraine, Chester Springs resident Kostyantyn Peredery supports the West’s mission to back his home country, although he wishes it came sooner, writes Jeff Cole for FOX 29.

Biden’s proposal would go toward keeping Ukraine’s military stocked with weapons and ammunition, and help with economic and humanitarian aid.

Ukrainian-born Peredery moved to the U.S. six years ago with his family. Ever since Russia’s invasion, he has sent care packages of food, clothing, and generators. Yet, he wishes he could do more for those back home.

“I blame myself for not having any military experience and not being part of the action,” said Peredery, an IT entrepreneur. He knew of the many Ukrainian soldiers who were killed, including a college friend.

When asked if the West has been too slow to bring aid to Ukraine, he said there has been unnecessary debate about when and how to help.

“You can not let the bully keep on bullying everyone the way the bully wants,” Peredery said about Russia. “Because how do you stop the bully? You have to draw the hard line.”
