The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is building on its commitment to ensuring the health and well-being of the community by launching a new corporate wellness program that makes it easier than ever for employers to support their employees’ wellness journeys.

“As people go about their day-to-day responsibilities with work, family, and home life, individual wellness can quickly fall to the wayside,” said Janet Mackay, senior director of corporate membership. “Research from the CDC has shown that healthy employees not only have a better quality of life at home but also are more likely to perform well in the workplace.”

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine Employee Wellness Program (EWP) provides a simple and valuable tool for employers to support their employees’ health through a robust catalog of program offerings.

“What differentiates this program from some of the other options in the market is that it connects employees to their larger community as well as to a local non-profit organization that is dedicated to serving and benefiting that same community,” said Mackay.

The Employee Wellness Program includes:

  • Full virtual access to the YGBW online library of health and wellness classes, including “workplace workouts”
  • An annual corporate team building event hosted by the YMCA to engage employees and build community
  • A 10 percent discount for any EWP corporate member who decides to upgrade to a full membership with YGBW

The Tri-M Group, one of the region’s largest merit shop contractors based out of Kennett Square, was the first employer to partner with YGBW to offer the employee wellness program to its staff.

“Tri-M is thrilled to partner with the Y and offer our employees a virtual option to assist in achieving their health and wellness goals. We have close to 500 employees spread throughout the states of PA, MD, DE and NJ and this allows us to offer a robust wellness plan that provides a variety of workouts that fit into their own personal lifestyle and timeline,” said Amanda Novak, vice president of human resources at Tri-M Group.

“The response thus far has been tremendous,” said Mackay. “We look forward to expanding wellness opportunities that focus on the whole person throughout Chester County and surrounding areas, creating strong relationships within our corporate communities.”
