April 17-23 is National Volunteer Week, and as such, the Chester County Library and Henrietta Hankin Branch Library are honoring all of their volunteers who so generously shared their time and talent during the last two years.

This community of volunteers contributes daily to the efficiency of both libraries, as many volunteers have more than 20 years of service.

This year, the libraries are celebrating 26 volunteers who have reached the milestones of 500, 1,000, or 2,500 hours of service for 2019 and 2021. Many of them worked alongside staff throughout the pandemic – a testament to their dedication and service.

  • 500-hour recipients have selected a book that is special to each of them, and a bookplate has been inserted in their names
  • 1,000-hour recipients have received the much-coveted Share the Gift of Reading pin
  • 2,500-hour recipients will receive a brass plate on the 2,500-Hour Plaque of Fame that can be found at the new Reference/Multimedia Desk on the first floor of the Chester County Library

A special wall display has also been created in the lobby of the Chester County Library.
