Seven branches of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine are hosting Summer Camp Open House Celebrations from Friday, March 25 through Sunday, March 27.

Times vary depending on location. All are welcome.

While each open house will feature its own unique offerings, some of the happenings include tours of the facility, meet and greets with the summer camp leadership team, games, crafts, and more.

“We’re looking forward to having new and returning camp families out at the branches to meet our team, learn more about what we have planned for summer 2022, and of course have fun,” said Ed Keys, Chief Financial Officer at the YMCA of Greater Brandywine. 

Specific events include: 

Brandywine YMCA
Sunday, March 27 from 11 AM-1 PM

Tour the expansive facility, meet the camp leadership team, and learn what a “typical” camp day looks like. Enjoy arts and crafts, gaga ball, an obstacle course, and slingshots and meet community partners, including the Coatesville Area Library, Chester County Food Bank, and the Coatesville Youth Initiative. 

Jennersville YMCA
Saturday, March 26 from 4-7 PM

Tour the facility, meet the camp leadership team, and stop by the “Hire Now” table to learn more about working at the Y. Families will enjoy mini golf, cornhole, theater activities, and other games, plus the chance to enter a raffle to win camp prizes. The theme is “Beach Tiki.”

Kennett Area YMCA
Saturday, March 26 from 10 AM-1 PM

Tour the facility, meet the camp leadership team, and preview some of the camp’s weekly themes. Enjoy pedal carts, penny boats, arts and crafts, relay races, and some brain-challenging fun!

Lionville Community YMCA
Saturday, March 26 from 2-4 PM

Tour the facility and meet the camp leadership team. Families will also have the opportunity to enjoy pickleball, pedal carts, and arts and crafts and meet some great community partners.

Oscar Lasko YMCA & Childcare Center
Friday, March 25 from 6-7:30 PM

Tour the facility, get camp questions answered, and meet the camp leadership team.

Upper Main Line YMCA
Saturday, March 26 from 11 AM-1 PM

Visit 54 acres of fun! Tour the facility and meet the camp leadership team to get questions answered. Enjoy pickleball, pedal carts, arts and crafts, face painting, lawn games, and more. A Rita’s Italian Ice vendor will be on hand for a sweet treat.

West Chester Area YMCA
Sunday, March 27 from 12-3 PM

Enjoy tours of the facility, meet the camp team, and find out more about the “day in the life of a camper.” Families will have the opportunity to complete arts and crafts, jump on the moon bounce, and meet some great community partners.
