Local pinball fans have found their slot in Malvern. Pinball Gallery, which boasts upward of 130 new and classic pinball machines, has become a source of retro-fun and modern-day competitions. J.F. Pirro lit up the business’s success story for Main Line Today.

Pinball Gallery provides countless hours of fun for casual players. But it also hosts several leagues, including a women-only league aptly titled Ball Busters. The league, which was started by Sherry Disney (wife of Pinball Gallery owner Bill Disney), has a five-week season capped by a tournament.

The venue is also popular with Broomall’s Rick Prince, who has was ranked by the International Flipper Pinball Association as the 115th player in the world at one point. He earned the ranking by tilting out 71,000 other players.

The Disneys first opened Pinball Gallery in Downingtown in 2009, just months after the Great Recession. Six years later, the business truly took off at its new, 4,500-square-foot arcade in Malvern.

“When we first moved, there weren’t enough machines to fill it,” said Bill. “We had sections blocked off. We’ve kept expanding.”

The venue also supports a good cause. There are several coin-drop machines that collect donations for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
