Vida Beale Consignment, a new all-women’s consignment shop in West Chester, offers upscale clothing and accessory items without a hefty price tag attached, writes Bill Rettew for the Daily Local News.

The shop, run by Kirsten Gross, opened in October. In addition to clothes, accessories, bags, jewelry, and shoes, it offers home decor and furniture in “The Back Room.”

“Vida Beale Consignment exists to provide cost-savvy, fashion-conscious women the ability to purchase current trend, upscale, used clothing, and accessories at an affordable price,” reads the shop’s mission statement.

Gross’s goal is to empower women to feel confident in their style and to “present their best selves to the world and to not be forced to compromise on affordability of today’s most desired fashion trends.”

Gross developed a love for fashion at an early age. But her budget limited her choices when it came to high-end clothing. She got most of her clothes at second-hand shops and even found a job at an upscale consignment store in her 20s.

She said her new shop is a tribute to her parents.

“My parents have given me a beautiful life, and this shop is the explanation,” she said.
