Hollywood Casino Morgantown is prepping for a Dec. 22 opening.

Hollywood Casino Morgantown, just outside Chester County, will officially open its doors at noon on Dec. 22. Andrew Kulp reported the Penn National Gaming announcement for the Daily Local News.

“The countdown to our grand opening begins today,” said Marc Guastella, vice president and general manager for Hollywood Casino Morgantown. “We’re very excited to soon welcome patrons to this beautiful new property, where they’ll be able to experience premier gaming, dining, and entertainment.”

The 80,000-square-foot facility is located close to intersections of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, Interstate 176, and Route 10 in neighboring Berks County. It is known as Category 4 casino that is sometimes described as a “mini-casino.”

It will contain 750 slot machines and 30 table games.

Patrons will also be able to try their sports-betting luck at a Barstool Sportsbook. This section of the casino is also outfitted with a 150-seat dining room, a bar with a huge monitor, and televisions stationed throughout.

The casino will boast several innovative features, such as Hollywood Casino’s new 3C technology. The app will allow guests to handle all transactions from their phones.

“It’s contactless, cardless, cashless wagering,” said Eric Schippers, SVP of public affairs for Penn National Gaming.
