SCORE: Women’s Entrepreneurship Conference Oct. 22 at West Chester University

SCORE Chester & Delaware Counties is co-hosting the Women’s Entrepreneurship Conference , “Start, Build, Pivot and Grow” taking place Oct. 22 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the West Chester University Foundation, 202 Carter Drive in West Chester.

The Conference is in-person, but will also be live-streamed starting at 8:45 a.m.  

The annual educational conference focuses on how women entrepreneurs can seize opportunities, face challenges, and find support when needed to continue growing their business.

A free book, The New Startup Mindset, by Sandra Shpilberg, is available to all attendees and registrants for pick-up at West Chester University.  Shpilberg is a serial entrepreneur and small business investor.

Keynote Speaker is Uva Coles, Chief Learning Officer at Spring Point Partners, LLC. and Founder and CEO of Inclusiva, a consulting firm specializing in developing inclusive workforce strategies.

Uva has over 25 years of experience focused on designing workforce learning and development strategies, negotiating local-to-global academic partnerships, and advising C-suite executives and governance leaders on integrating systemic Diverse, Equitable, and Inclusive (DEI) solutions.

Sue Weldon will be the featured speaker. She is the founder and CEO of Unite for HER, a nonprofit focusing on wellness initiatives for women diagnosed with breast and ovarian cancers.

The Women’s Entrepreneurship Conference will include panel discussions.

  • Entrepreneurs and the Mentor/Mentee Relationship
  • Being Prepared for the Unexpected and Seizing the Opportunity to Change

Here’s a Program Overview:

  • 8:00-8:45 – Registration and networking
  • 8:45-9:00 – Welcome and opening remarks
  • 9:00-9:45 – Keynote Speaker presentation
  • 9:45-10:35 – Panel Discussion – Mentor/Mentee Relationship
  • 10:40-11:25 – Featured Speaker presentation with Q&A
  • 11:25-12:10 – Panel Discussion – Being Prepared for the Unexpected
  • 12:10 – Closing remarks followed by boxed lunch

Fee In-person – $20 (includes lunch); Limited to first 125 registrants.

West Chester University has modified the meeting space to ensure your health and safety while attending the Women’s Entrepreneurship Conference:

  • Tables have been removed from the meeting room to allow safe distance between seats.
  •  Outdoor networking and lunch seating will be provided, weather permitting.
  •  Individually packaged snacks, boxed lunches, and beverages will be provided.
  • WCU mask mandate requires that you wear a face mask at all times while indoors on campus, regardless of vaccination status.
